Our Three Cardinal Principles

"Phi Delta Theta was organized with three principle objectives: The cultivation of friendship among its members; the acquirement individually of a degree of mental culture, and the attainment personally of a high standard of morality."

Simply put:

Friendship, sound learning, and rectitude

Friendship

Becoming a Phi Delt at Michigan State opens a multitude of doors, but also gives you the opportunity to make friends that will last for more than just your four years as an undergrad. You will make many new friends here at Michigan State, but the brothers of Phi Delta Theta will be the ones you are closest with.

Sound Learning

Academics are something that we take seriously here at Michigan Beta. We believe that in order to get the most out of your undergraduate experience, you must find a balance between a healthy social life, and good academic standing. In order to provide the best environment for our brothers, we offer professional tutoring, study tables, and academic advising through the university. Our chapter GPA is consistently above the male campus average, and we also find ourselves ranked highly within the Greek community.

Rectitude
Simply put, rectitude means "doing the right thing." Whether that be philanthropically, academically, or morally, we hold each other to a very high standard. Because of this, we have many brothers that are leaders in organizations outside of Phi Delt.
